MUSIC MULAKATEIN
Music Mulakatein (Music Meetings in Hindi) is a not-for-profit initiative promoting access to live music for all. We believe music can inspire, improve lives, gather communities, and encourage free thinking. Our goal is to bring live music to underserved communities, harnessing its power to drive social change.
Music Mulakatein in the media:
We aim to promote indie music by bringing live performances to communities without direct access. Music can provide joy, entertainment, and inspiration, breaking social boundaries and prejudices. We believe everyone should have the right to experience live concerts and “feel-good times,” improving life, attitude, and mental health.
Our Music Mulakatein series offers free concerts and workshops by artists in collaboration with NGOs at locations like slums, community centers, and hospitals. Between 2018 and 2020, we hosted over 20 events across Mumbai in areas such as Govandi, Malad East, Dharavi, and more.
Featured musicians include Ankur Tewari, Greg Ellis, Laxmi Bomb, Samantha Noella, Shubhangi Joshi, Sarathy Korwar, Vasundhara Vee, Electrophazz, The Great Harry Hillman, Neel Adhikari, Swinging Partout, Zoe Simpson, and others.
